Emperor's Birthday, Christmas and New Year!
Hi Everyone,
so yeah this week has gone by pretty fast. Last night we went caroling around to a few of the members houses. We had a branch Christmas party which was pretty fun, today we had a hard time with shopping and stuff because lots of things are closed because today is the Emperors Birthday holiday week, which over shadows Christmas which is just a regular day for most people, and next week is new years which is probably the biggest holiday that they celebrate here. We aren't supposed to go out tracting that day, so they want everyone to clean there apartments for like 9 hours that day, don't ask me why, so Ill probably spend most of the time studying.
Anyways a few more things about my companion, he is actually 28 years old and a law school graduate. He had a career as a lawyer that he left to come on a mission, although he looks like he is 18. He speaks enough english that he can usually try to say something in English if he really has to, but he told me this is Japan so we shouldn't be speaking any English, so I don't talk much at all because I really cant say much and its really hard understanding what anyone says because we are so far out in the country and most people either speak really politely or they speak in basic form of Japanese and because we are missionaries we learned a more polite way of talking so its super hard to understand what anyone says. But they can understand the little bit of Japanese that I know.
Anyways Ill see you all over skype later!
