Kombanwa!
So far all the weight has been going to my stomach, I need to be better at doing my sit-ups in the morning. When one of my investigators who hadn't seen me in a long time said Elder Canepari your looking a little big in the stomach, I knew that I definitely needed to be doing more sit-ups.
I think missionaries average in an area is probably about 3 transfers. I have been here for 4, but I finally got a transfer call. Today was my last P-day with my district here in Ishinomaki, its really sad but I'm super excited because the new area Im going to is the area that everyone always talks about how they want to get transfered to. Its called.....Akita, you will have to look it up, I don't know much about it except that it is near the coast (just like Ishinomaki) but it is on the other side of Japan. Its going to be close to a 6 hour trip by bus to get there from here. My knew companion is Elder Earl. All I know about him is that he speaks Chinese. So I don't know if he is actually Chinese or not, but he sounds American to me. I leave on Wednesday and will be at the Sendai Mission HQ for a night before leaving over to Akita.
The sad part is leaving my district and all the investigators and members here. Luckily I will be able to see a few of them tomorrow before I leave. I also have a few more pictures from our P-day today, we went hiking!
Love you guys!
Languages! Japanese, Japanese Sign and now Chinese!
So, I got the transfer call on Sunday that I was leaving on Wednesday to Akita, I spent the first night in Sendai, then the next night in Morioka, and then on Friday night I finally made it to Akita, which means The Autumn Field. My companion is Elder Earl from Utah. He studied Chinese for about 5 years before his mission and they actually teach a Chinese class here as well as the English class. So I will be learning some Chinese it looks like.
My New Branch
The branch here is a lot bigger than it was in Ishinomaki, I think its closer to 50 members, there is an actually young womens in this branch, there are only a few people in it, but there was no youth really at all in Ishinomaki. There is 1 American here and several Toungan families also. Also several of the members here speak English pretty fluently, but luckily my Japanese has gotten a lot better.
Akita
Akita is way out on the other side of Japan, off the coast of the Sea of Japan. There are lots of rice fields here, I took a few pictures from the view of the apartment;
I definitely feel out in the country over here. The district is a lot different, me and Elder Earl are the only Elders, so we are in an apartment by ourselves which is a lot different. There are actually 4 sister missionaries here, I knew 2 of them already, one was Sister Luk, she transfered out my the Ishinomaki district a transfer before me, and the other is Sister Stice who I was in the MTC with. They are both Chinese so the 2 of them and Elder Earl teach the Chinese class.
New Email Time
Also, my email time is now in the morning Japan time, so any emails I get later I wont be able to reply to or read until next week.
Love you guys,
-Elder Canepari
